Welcome to the first of our Italian Vintner Dinner series and Live Chats! Join us via Instagram Live for a conversation with Virginie Saverys, owner of the historic Avignonesi winery. Under Virginia Saverys, Avignonesi has become a leader in biodynamic viticulture in Italy, producing wines that offer authentic and inimitable expressions of terroir, vintage and varietal.

The Inspiration…

For a couple weeks during months of February, March, and April we will be offering a series of fixed price menus focused on regional dishes, with wine pairings and virtual chats with some of Italy’s top wine producers. This idea came about as a way to honor and celebrate the friendships Lou and Lydia have built over the decades with Italian winemakers, thanks mostly in part to their dear friend and colleague, David Bryant. David was a wine salesman who had independently built his wine portfolio from family run, organic wineries throughout Italy.

Today the relationships go well beyond David, as Lou and Lydia have built their own relationships with many of the winemakers and their families, many of whom are now Italy’s top wine producers, including GD Vajra, Isole e Olena, La Gerla, Wilhelm Walch, Avignonesi, Andrea Fossi, and Giacomo Conterno (to name a few).

Because good food and drink are meant to be shared with others, Lou and Lydia felt this was an appropriate time to share a decades long friendship with one man that has brought so many more friendships and good times with all of you.

Pizza rustica season is upon us! A rustic, savory torte made with egg, fresh and cured cheeses, and mixed cured meats including spicy salami and prosciutto, all wrapped in a flaky, buttery pastry crust and baked. It’s a Girasole tradition that stems from Chef Lou’s own family and is meant to celebrate the end of Lent. Find pizza rustica on our specials, or order your own pie to enjoy over the Easter holiday with friends and family.

Our persimmon tiramisu is really something to talk about. 

At first bite a bit odd, like you're not really understanding what your tasting. The texture is smooth with complex flavors of honey and spice, rich but at the same time delicate. By the end of the first bite, you are in love. 

Available on our dessert tray for only a little while longer as the season for persimmons is finally coming to an end.
