About the Author
Vicky Bennison
“Vicky Bennison began telling stories about her culinary adventures while working in international development, which took her to places like Siberia, South Africa, and Turkmenistan where she was always thinking about the next decent meal. She went on to write food and wine guides for Corfu, Mallorca, and Andalucia which garnered praise from The Observer, The Times, and Delia Smith Online, among others. Bennison also worked on the cookbook Seasonal Spanish Food with chef Jose Pizarro.
While researching Italian food for another project, she noticed that cooking skills were no longer being passed on to younger generations. Fearing the loss of family and regional recipes, Vicky decided to celebrate these nonne (grandmothers in Italian) by filming them and founded Pasta Grannies. Her Pasta Grannies YouTube channel has over 900,000 subscribers since launching in 2014. She has published several cookbooks on Italian and Spanish cuisine, including the James Beard Award-winning Pasta Grannies the Cookbook. Her work has appeared in such publications as Food & Wine, Forbes, La Cucina Italiana, Good Food, SBS, and The Telegraph. Vicky divides her time between homes in London and La Marche in central Italy.”
